New Hyper9 version preferred over vCenter Server
The latest version of Hyper9's virtualization management software has received stamps of approval from VMware administrators.
The new version allows for quick and easy access to information that VMware Inc.'s vCenter Server takes hours to find, according to SearchServerVirtualization.com.
"[VCenter] is pretty great, but it has some gaping holes for doing maintenance and monitoring," said Robert Murphy, a senior systems engineer at a large U.S. retailer. The canned queries in the latest release gives you quick access to critical information, including the location of orphaned snapshot files and a list of virtual machines with mounted floppy drives, according to Murphy.
SAP to release best practices for recession
SAP is working with its largest customers to put together a list of best practices that could help even its smaller customers weather the recession.
SAP assembled the group earlier this year to develop these best practices and named it/them the Premier Customer Network. It comprises 390 of SAP's largest customers from the Americas, EMEA and the Asia-Pacific and Japan regions.
During SAP's second quarter earnings call this week, the company mentioned the group as one of SAP's go-to-market strategies in a troubled economy, according to SearchSAP.com. Key members of the Premier Customer Network that are developing the best practices include BMW and Apple.
