VMLogix releases LabManager Cloud Edition beta
The LabManager Cloud Edition has the ability to run virtual labs in the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, and VMLogix Inc. is already talking about a future hybrid edition.
The Cloud Edition allows for combinations of multiple Amazon Machine Images to be placed in a single environment. Automated deployment and re-deployment of multi-machine environments is also possible with this new version.
The pay-as-you-go offering permits development, QA, training and pre-sales demo and support teams to adjust to a lab infrastructure as needed, according to SearchCloudComputing.com.
Oracle shuts down Virtual Iron product line
Word has spread that Virtual Iron will stop taking orders for Virtual Iron products and will suspend product development after June 30, but some Oracle and Virtual Iron partners are still clueless.
One Virtual Iron Software Inc. (VI) reseller just found out this week with a letter from VI and Oracle stating that all VI authorized reseller agreements will be terminated, and no new licensing agreements will be honored after that date.
In its letter to partners, Oracle reportedly said that when the Oracle VM-Virtual Iron integrated product is available, Virtual Iron customers will be able to move to the new, integrated product, according to SearchITChannel.com.
