After ten years selling EMC storage, Dell is ending its relationship with EMC Corporation. Despite having two years left in their agreement, the IT powerhouses’ decision to part ways has been a matter of “when” not “if.”
The divorce makes sense given Dell’s EqualLogic and Compellent deals, which bolstered its storage offerings. Because of the success of server virtualization, the need for physical servers has waned in recent years and Dell wants to focus on being a singular source for virtualization storage rather than partnering with EMC.
Microsoft updates Windows Intune
After much anticipation, Microsoft released a Windows Intune update. During their first year of selling the desktop management tool, Microsoft will give partners 12% of Intune fees. The company will also give partners with Windows Client Enterprise Agreements a 50% discount and bonuses for each new customer subscription providers obtain.
The Windows Intune update is now available to customers and those who have Intune beta have until Nov. 17 to upgrade.

Version 5.7 provides infrastructure monitoring for customers within Microsoft Systems Center and includes support for VMware vSphere 5 and VMware’s biggest environments along with new reporting capabilities. Veeam, a VMware partner, announced at VMWorld that full accessibility will be available by November.
