There's been a lot of talk about energy savings from blade server virtualization, and one of the main things people talk about are network switches. You can have one blade solution with integrated switches, which is more efficient, since you don't have all the patches coming off the back of the blade servers. You can also use a SAN, so everything's building on top of that SAN infrastructure. Not only does it save power, but your blade essentially becomes a headless processing unit.
