The Business Desktop Deployment framework is really where you want to be looking. Not only do you get the consistent deployment that you always had via scripts, you can do it easier via images using the Windows Imaging Format (WIM). You also get user state migration tools --which preserve user settings throughout the move to a new computer or operating system -- and an application compatibility toolkit that you can use to ensure that the programs you run on a daily basis will work with Vista.
