>
EXPERT RESPONSE BPM should be a business sponsored and driven activity. If it's perceived by the customer as an IT project, chances are it will fall in the development project to-do list and eventually fall off the list due to budget constraints. For a customer, the strategy aspect of BPM is the agile and flexible enterprise via process innovation in an ever changing environment. Each industry, or market, presents characteristics that have direct impact on the ability to build such agile and flexible enterprise. Customers don't necessarily understand of the specifics of what's needed in any given context, or how to determine which innovative processes are needed to gain the most advantage out of the new technologies. Old technologies present limitations when it comes to addressing BPM requirements. VAR can help customers walk the path of innovation by introducing them to the newer technologies.
