Microsoft Windows Vista Enterprise Centralized Desktop (VECD) is a new subscription-based license that lets companies host Vista, and assorted applications, in server-based virtual machines that are centrally managed. The sessions on the virtual machines are streamed out to users.
VECD requires an annual, per-device fee that depends on the agreement each client negotiates with Microsoft. If you have customers with reliable, high-speed networks and lots of clients -- and environments where security and central management is of prime importance -- then VECD is a suggested scenario for deploying Windows Vista.
